Mezzotint is a method of creating an original print on a sheet of copper which has been stippled with many dots, usually using a tool called a rocker. Then to create an image I use a burnishing tool to polish away the dots. The plate is then covered in etching ink, and by a process of wiping the image is revealed, ready for printing.
